Apollo Studio
Guide to creating lights using Apollo Studio by mat1jaczyyy.
Apollo Studio is a standalone lights software, developed my Mat1jaczyyy and released in 2019. It allows launchpad artists to make MidiExt-esque lights in a chain lights production style.
Apollo Studio also has some quality-of-life devices baked in, such as rotate, depths, and more. Aside from that, Apollo Studio also supports the entire colour limit on launchpads. This is because it handles lightshows and sends them to the Launchpad in System Exlusive (SysEx) code rather than midi, bypassing the 127 velocity values that traditional midi has.
Additionally, lightshows displayed on the Launchpad through Apollo Studio have virtually unlimited frames-per-second (capped at 500fps). This makes it more lightweight and faster than Ableton lights, taking less RAM and is more easy on lower-end devices.

Making chain lights is similar to making lights in Apollo Studio. However instead of plugins such as rotate and copy, Ableton Midi Effects such as arpeggiator and velocity are used. Chain lights are heavily avoided due to their high RAM and processing power usage, and being outright tedious to make.
