Basic Setup
Configure your Launchpad and software for reliable lightshow performance.
Before diving into complex projects, make sure your setup is stable.
Hardware
- Connect your Launchpad directly to your computer if possible.
- If you need a hub, use a powered USB hub to avoid power issues.
- Use a good-quality USB cable and avoid moving the device during play.
Drivers & Firmware
- Install any required drivers for your Launchpad model from the official Novation website.
- Update the firmware to the latest version using Novation’s tools.
DAW / App Configuration
For Ableton Live:
- Enable your Launchpad in Preferences → Link/MIDI.
- Set the appropriate Control Surface, Input, and Output for your model.
- Make sure Track and Remote are enabled on the relevant MIDI ports.
For UniPad / Unitor / others:
- Follow the app’s specific setup instructions.
- Confirm that the correct Launchpad model and mode are selected.
Latency & Performance
